Question: what constitutes the genre of mythology?
Answer: Mythology deals with the ancestry, and origins of a people and
includes their religion, deities, ancestors, and heroes. Stories that relate these together are often included. Mythology deals with spiritual values as opposed to facts that can be documented with scientific research. The ancient Greeks recognized the poetic nature of myths. For this reason the word ‘myth’ may have its root in Indo-European ‘mū̆-‘, ‘(onomatopoeic: to hum, moo)’ and ‘dheu-‘, ‘to flow, run’. The reason that myth appears as poetry is probably that poetry is easy to remember and the myths represent the most memorable stories for a people who cannot write down their stories.

Question: is hera gay
Answer: We have no way of knowing this. A gay person will often admit to
prefering sex with a partner of the same sex. But unless a women tries same
sex relations she may not know. Because a woman may take a passive role in

prefer sex with a woman. Hera has never had any sexual relations with a woman
that I know of so she does not know whether she prefers lesbian sex or not.

had to pay money to the master to get sex from the slave.
Question: Why was Hera so mean
Answer: There was no Devil for the Greeks. They believed evil came from
the whims of the deities. What you are calling mean is the Hera that is portrayed in the myths. But there is no way that Hera can really be called mean because the divinities are all perfect. The motives of the gods are beyond human cognition. She seems mean to mortals
but you notice in the myths ultimatly good often comes from her behavior. She seemed mean to Herakles, but she made him into a hero. Ultimately he became a god. She may have provided the path to divity for him. In reality it is hard to believe good will come without some effort. So when that effort is stimulate it is hard to refer the cause as mean.

Question: what god has more followers thanhera?
Answer: In general need determined which deity a person followed. But it was not a matter of following one to the exclusion of others. You had to be fairly sensitive to your needs because you did not want to ignore deities that you actually needed. There were many cases where a deity was forgotten with disasterous consequences. Some indication of followers is the number of temples that were built for a goddess. The most popular goddess was probably Hestia because every town had its prytaneum which contained the sacred fire of Hestia. Athena would be the next most popular with Artemis following her based on the ruins of temples that still exist.
Question: Why is there a godess like this?
Answer: It is true enough to answer that she was born this way. But you can go way beyond this. The study of ancient religions is interesting because this reveals a lot about human nature, and it reveals a lot about the societies that suppoted those ways of worship. Hera’s struggles probably reveal a lot about women’s struggles in the ancient Greek Society. The ancient Greek women probably had a hard time keeping their husbands faithful and they probably worked hard at it. As Hera had power so the women had power but they also had to put up with humiliation and isolation.
Question: what does hera do for a living?
Answer: On the Earth man lives in society governed by various types
of political systems using legislated and enforced laws. In the heavens
deities rule use divine laws. Divine laws are not enforced, but rather
cause events to happen by necessity. The ancient Greeks felt that these
divine laws came about though the legislation of the deities. These
deities were an aristocracy divided into separate realms and sub-realms.
The deities of the sub-realms were the servants of the deities of the
realm. Zeus ruled over all with all reality divided into twelve realms
under him. Hera was the goddess of marriage which formed one of the
twelve realms. Her job was to legislate divine laws relating to marriage.
She made a rule a law simply by thinking about it. As with mortal government
legislation was easy. Unlike mortal law enforcement divine enforcement is easy. The problem
comes with the results. Many suffer under the effects of a law and seek
consideration and redress. These so effected petition Hera in the form
of prayers which she must listen to. She must then take action on the basis
of the facts presented. This is how Hera spends most of her time. She
considers prayers and decides whether to answer them or not. She answers
them by bring into reality what is prayed for.

Question: WHAT DID HERA CREATE?
Answer: The children she produced was the result of a creative act. But
a goddess normally creates very little besides thoughts. These thoughts
form universal laws of nature by which things behave. When humans produce
things they must obey the laws of nature which the gods ordain. Since
Hera is the goddess of marriage, family life is most affected by her creation.
Question: Who is Hera’s uncle?
Any of the male Titans except Cronus would be her uncle: Atlas, Coeus,
Crius, Hyperion, Iapetus, Oceanus, Pallas, Persus, Prometheus.
Question: What did hera feel when she knew that her husband was cheating on her.
Answer: She felt there was not a whole lot she could do about it. But
she did try to maintain her marriage and her dignity even though the other
deities were aware of what was going on. In this way she set an example for
other women. One wonders what kind of example Zeus set for the men.
Hera should have set the example for both sexes. Marriage plainly involves
give and take and it seems unlikely that the woman is the only one to give.
Divine marriages did not alway occur for moral reasons; the hope is the
ancient Greek families understood this and based their marriage on more
practical examples. It is possible that Zeus provided an example of what not to do.
Question: why can’t hera marry any one then zeus.
Answer: Hera chose Zeus because she thought he would be a good mate.

later their relation improved. She has not had any trouble with him for over
two thousand years..

Answer: When you are a major goddess you do not have to worry about personal
achievement. A goddess rules her realm. This means making sure the rules for the realm are good and fair. It also means listening to prayers and petitions and then acting on them. What Hera does affects the personal achievements of mortals but her own achievement is no different than her realm.

Hera reported it, Zeus, wishing to know if the thing were so, made a cloud in
the likeness of Hera and laid it beside him; and when Ixion boasted that he
had enjoyed the favours of Hera, Zeus bound him to a wheel, on which he is
whirled by winds through the air; such is the penalty he pays. And the cloud,
impregnated by Ixion, gave birth to Centaurus.”

Answer: Homer Iliad 15.13 records Zeus speaking of his displeasure:
““Hera, that art hard to deal with, it is the craft of thine evil wiles [15] that hath stayed goodly Hector from the fight, and hath driven the host in rout. Verily I know not but thou shalt yet be the first to reap the fruits of thy wretched ill-contriving, and I shall scourge thee with stripes. Dost thou not remember when thou wast hung from on high, and from thy feet I suspended two anvils, and about thy wrists cast [20] a band of gold that might not be broken? And in the air amid the clouds thou didst hang, and the gods had indignation throughout high Olympus; howbeit they availed not to draw nigh and loose thee. Nay, whomsoever I caught, I would seize and hurl from the threshold until he reached the earth, his strength all spent. Yet not even so was my heart [25] eased of its ceaseless pain for godlike Heracles, whom thou when thou hadst leagued thee with the North Wind and suborned his blasts, didst send over the unresting sea, by thine evil devising, and thereafter didst bear him away unto well-peopled Cos. Him did I save from thence, and brought again [30] to horse-pasturing Argos, albeit after he had laboured sore. Of these things will I mind thee yet again, that thou mayest cease from thy beguilings, to the end that thou mayest see whether they anywise avail thee, the dalliance and the couch, wherein thou didst lie with me when thou hadst come forth from among the gods, and didst beguile me.”
Question: Was Hera related to Isis
Answer: Only vaguely. Isis was an Egyptian Persephone.
Question: did she ever kill innocent people because of Zeus or have we
got the wrong picture about her altogether?
Answer: Wrong picture. The ancient Greeks had no devil and it is
important that Hera not be made into one (of course traditional Christians
feel all the Greek deities are devils). For the Greek evil resulted from
the whims of the deities. Yet it is only evil to us. To them this was
part of a divine plan that only they could justify. The myths cannot
truely be interpreted in this way, but generally provide some moral message.
The myths about Hera may relate to the extent to which a wife must go to
stabilize her family and marriage. They do not seem that applicable today
but they probably relate to accepted knowledge in ancient Greece.

Athena encouraged the Achean Greeks to attack and fight Troy, where
Helen stayed encouraged by Aphrodite. So the main division of the Trojan war involved Aphrodite on the side of Troy while Hera and Athena supported the mainland Greeks (Achaeans). Many of the other deities also took sides. On the Achaean side were the deities Poseidon, Hermes, and Hephaestus. On the Trojan side were the deities Ares, Apollo, Artemis, Leto, and Xanthus. Thge rationale for this division is not clear. Iliad, Bk 20.

Question: can a goddess die or be killed and how
Answer: Death does not mean the same for a goddess. A goddess cannot die
in the mortal sense. If a goddess, such as Persephone, visits Hades she is
dead while she is there, but most goddesses are prohibited from doing this.
When she leaves Hades she is alive again. Mortals cannot leave Hades, but
goddesses can. If a goddess were to be thrown into Tartaros, as some Titans
were, they would be as good as dead because they would have no control over
their realm. A goddess who is ignored by mortals is as good as dead also.

Question: If Hera was the goddess of marriage, and she could control the
outcome, then why didnt she make she and zeus have a good, faithful marriage?
Answer: The one person in the universe she could not control was her
husband Zeus. This was probably because the wives of ancient Greece had a
similar challenge. Women generally only had the ways of Hera to stabilize
their marriage. But it was a matter of life and death for a woman. A man
could get rid oh his wife easily if she was not satisfactory while a woman
could not divorce her husband. When a woman was no longer a wife her status
was greatly reduced.

Question: What was the position of the thorne room?
Answer: In the typical Greek palace the guest enters the front door and
passes into the main court of the palace. This is where most of the cooking
takes place and most of the entertaining. The door to the throne room is
on the opposite side of the court. The throne is often placed on the far
end of this room on the outside wall of the palace. Above the throne room
is the women’s apartments. Beneath the throne room is the treasury. Next
to the throne room is the men’s room where a symposium is given. Around the
court may be storage rooms which open on the court. In the Iliad is the phrase ‘ξεστῇς αἰθούσῃσιν ἐνίζανον’ which is where Zeus calls a meeting of the gods. One translation is ‘marble gallery’. Another is ‘arcades of polished marble’. A literal translation may be ‘a scraped out warm place to sit and listen they settled in to’ The meeting seems not to be in a throne room previously described but in the court of the palace. In fact it seems a lot like rooms described in archaeological sites which consist of a fire pit surrounded by benches of stone surrounded by walls. If there were a roof it would have a large hole to let out the smoke. Only Zeus would have been on a chair-like throne. The other benches would be on the benches or on the ground. All this is suggested by the possibility that the Indo-European roots of αἰθούσῃσιν are ‘ai-dh-‘, ‘to burn, shine’; ‘ōus-‘, ‘ear’, and ‘ē̆s-‘, ‘to sit’
Question: Do you (you personaly) believe that Zues and Hera run the universe, etc.?
Answer: All I care about is that the classical Greeks believed that Zeus ran the Universe. The Minoans probably believed that Hera ran the Universe. I do not believe that anyone believed that they both ran the Universe at the same time. During the classical period the other gods and goddesses were just as important as Hera for running the universe. But a comment about what ‘running the universe’ means in important. One of the most important concepts of ancient Greece is that the universe is law bound. Even the gods had to obey laws. Each of the deities were personifications of realms with natures and properties. To know the deity was to know the property or law. So the proper question is not who ran the universe but what is its nature. Once that question is asked then Science can begin. It is no accident that Science began in ancient Greece.
Question: When the ancient Greeks siad that Zues raped and cheated on Hera,
couldn’t that have just been a “cover up” for most men? Wouldn’t they reason
that if a god can cheat and rape, can’t they?
Answer: No. Your logic does not follow. The sexual relations of the God’s
explain why things are the way they are, not how they ought to be. Zeus’s
behavior may well have provided an example of what not to do. If a man were
to rape his wife, she might retaliate by stealing his belongings, or hurt him
in other ways. A man needs a trustworthy wife or he needs a lot of
trustworthy servants to control an untrustworty wife. In primitive times
it was often customary for a man to steal his wife. But even then it was
desirable to woo her so he could have her cooperation and consent. Otherwise
he would have an untrustworthy wife. I suppose you could steal a wife,
determine her trustworthyness, and then dump her if she was not trustworthy
but I find little evidence of this. Possibly, one of the reasons the marriage
partners were arranged by the parents was that they were a better judge of
trustworthyness.
The ancient Greeks were so afraid of spousal cheating that they set up a
system where cheating was very difficult. Wives and daughters were isolated
and pampered. But this did not mean that men left other women alone. It was
the unfortunate slave women who received the abuse. But their legal system
did not count this type of activity.
Question: what does hera’s symbol the cuckoo mean?
Answer: First realize that the association of a symbol with a goddess
defines its meaning, not the other way around. Then consider the
possibilities:
- Zeus took the form of a cuckoo when he wooed her.
- The cuckoo is considered the herald of spring.
- A cuckoo and a pomegranate are a symbol of conjugal love and fruitfulness.
- Birds generally refer to a union of body and soul.
- According to one version of a myth, Zeus first lay with Hera
on Mt Coccygas (the name means ‘cuckoo’), not far from Argos. - Mount Thornax (Cuckoo Mountain) in Argolis was a center of her worship.

Artemis, many women thought she was easier to approach. Her travails seemed
to mirror how many women suffered in those days and her experience was seen
as revelant to their own.
Question: did she have a tight pussy??
Answer: Goddesses are characterized by perfect qualities.
Question: Words derived from Hera’s name
Answer: hero, Herakles, heroine.
Question: was hera mad a lot
Answer: No. But when she was it made a good story.

Question: who did zeus put to sleep for loving his wife Hera
Answer Endymion was reported to have been sent into his eternal sleep for
lusting after Hera.
Question: did she have any human interactions
Answer: The fact that she answered prayers encouraged belief in her.
Question: why did Greeks say that Zeus raped and had sex with mortals if there was no proof of this happening? did woman come out and say “last night Zeus raped me”??
Answer: The driving force behind these stories was not what you might
think. It might be easy for a woman who got pregnant out of wedlock to make
such a claim to get her off the hook, but actually the divinities were not
fond of persons that told on them. Much more important was the fact that the
offspring of Zeus was invariably talented, famous and a credit to the family.
Any parent would want Zeus to find favor with one of their daughters. Also
it would allow the family to trace their blood line back to Zeus. It was a
matter of high status to be decended from Zeus. One difficult thought is the
extent that a parent would expose a daughter in hopes of obtaining such
and offstring. Andromeda was chained to a rock by the shore as bait for a
monster. One has to wonder if other daughters were chained by their parents
in hopes of an offspring of Zeus. Another thought has to do with fertility considerations. An ancient Greek girl wanted to become pregnant with a baby that would grow to a hero. The suggestion is that she might pray to zeus that she become pregnant. The best situation is that he would visit her in the form of her husband to impregnate her. Thus the stories of rape may relate to fertility.
Question: What is heras golden throne
Answer: “I sing of golden-throned Hera whom Rhea bare. Queen of the Immortals is she, surpassing all in beauty: she is the sister and wife of loud-thundering Zeus, – the glorious one whom all the blessed throughout high Olympos reverence and honour even as Zeus who delights in thunder” Homeric Hymn XII To Hera
Pictures:
Notice that Hera’s throne looks to us like a dining chair with a back. In
those days in a dining room only one person had a chair with a back. The rest
sat on stools.
Question: what where hera’s fears?
Answer: Goddesses do not have fears.
Question: did hera kill the mother of heracles?
Aswer: Alcmena, the mother of Herakles, is one of the most interesting and
important women in ancient Greek mythology. The most common account of her
death is that she died at a very old age at Thebes. Some believe she was
deified.
Question: what where heras hopes?
Answer: Goddesses do not hope. They just think and actions result.
Question: did Zeus and Hera have sex everyday?
Answer: Some say Zeus and Hera do not have sex anymore, because Hera
has not had any children in a long while, but this could not be true.
Godesses have a limited number of children because this must be the perfect
situation. They seem to have control of their ovulation because the children of deities are always deities that have some reason for coming into being.

Answer: Hera inspired great literature and art. He involvement in the Trojan War inspired a whole series of works of literature which have mostly been lost.
Question: who did hera get revenge on?
Answer: A goddess needs no revenge, but Hera seemed to take revenge on a
number of people according to myth. At least she challenged them rather than
seeming to help them. This included:
- Aegina
- Leto
- Io
- Semele
- Athamas
- Ino
- Callisto
- Herakles
- Alcmena
- Proteus’ daughters
- Side
- Gerena
- Rhodope and her husband Haemus
- Alcyone and Ceyx
Question: what were heras values?
Answer: A goddess does not have values, only thoughts and actions. Values
are only applicable to the lives of mankind. A human can see the value of
Hera for man. What Hera does is define the realm of marriage for man. How
her system works for man is its value.
Question: Did Hera have sex often?
Answer: Hera has sex almost as often as she wants. Sometimes she has to
borrow the girdle of Aphrodite to get Zeus interested in sex. But because she incorporates perfection her need for sex must be different.
Question: Was there ever a time other than helping a woman with her marriage that she was kind or nice to a human or godess female?
Answer: Since marriage was her realm most of her good efforts were done
in this area. Hera was quite fond of Jason and helped him in a number of ways.
Question: In what ways did Hera and Aphrodite compete with each other and over what?
Answer: Goddesses do not generally compete, but rather are confined to
a realm. Hera and Aphrodite were brought to a sort of competition when
they were both part of the judgement of Paris. This was a matter of their
beauty or the value of their gifts. Neither of these issues can really
be decided, but Aphrodite got the judgement though bribery. Hera was not happy with that and her actions led to the Trojan War.
Question: What was the place/city called where Hera was born.
Answer: Argos and Samos lay principle claim to this honor. But when
Hera was born she was immediately swallowed by her father. Later Zeus made
Cronus regurtate Hera. Her place of birth could be either where she came
out of her mother, or where she came out of her father.
Question: Why do you like Hera so much!
Answer: There is much to like about Hera, but rather than liking her I am just trying to be fair. The fact is that she is a goddess and it is not for mere humans to be judgemental about a goddess. The stories of Hera have inspired many works of art and I enjoy the art she has inspired.
Question: Is Hera a giving person? Does she always give people what they want if they honor her?
Answer: All goddesses are basically giving in the sense that they share
their realms with humans. But no goddess gives people exactly what they want
even if they honor her. She must rate the worthiness of each rquest. She
must also consider how the request fits her plans. It in not possible to know
whether any given request will be accepted.
Question: has she ever killed anyone be4
Answer: A goddess is allowed to punish with death anyone she considers bad.
It is common for a goddess to carry out this punishment. Most ancient Greek
people were careful to appease a goddess so they will not be so punished.
Question: this is fake right!
Answer: Hardly, what I try to do is present the beliefs and ideas of the
ancient Greeks. There is a tense problem though. According to the ancient
Greeks the goddesses are immortal. That means that they are just as much
alive today as then. Thus talk of a goddess is in the present tense. The
talk of the ancient Greeks themselves must be in the past tense. Thus the
ancient Greeks believed that Hera punishes bad people with death. If they
were right she must still be doing it. As evidence that this is true one
can cite the many lovers that are murdered by their lover. Appeasing the
goddess may only involve respecting your lover or spouse since it can be
argued that this is all that Hera wants. And since Hera is no more or less than a personification of marriage and honor, and these are important considerations, even today, then a knowledge of these institutions is in order anyway.
Question: who is Heraclea (Heraclyia, sp?)
Answer: There are several cities in Turkey named Heraclea and one in Greece
named Herakleia. These cities may have been named to honor Hera.
Question: how was Hera treated when she was younger or when they are created they are a surten age and they stay that age for the rest of eturnety
Answer: Normally a goddess matures very rapidly and she is able to assume
control of her realm immediately after birth. She does not change after
that.
Question: If we went to Greek today could we see Hera?
Answer: Sculptures and images of Hera exist in many museums around the
world including in Greece. The ancient Greeks believed she was an immortal
goddess and they believed she is as alive today as during their time. But
as the queen of the universe they did not believe she was confined to Greece.
They thought she could visit you anywhere you were. They believed that
she could visit me in Kent, Ohio, but I have not recognized her here. But they
also believed that she could visit me in the guise of a stranger, as one of
my friends, or even as a cow. So I really have no way of knowing if she has
been to Kent. If she came she did nothing to allow me to recognize her.
Goddesses allow you to recognize them when they change to an animal before
your very eyes, heal you of disease, or accurately foretell your future.
Or they might appear very large, or in a very radiant garment. Perhaps you
can recognize Hera in your neighborhood.
Question: how long did hera save marriages
Answer: As long as there are marriages there will be those that need to be saved.
Question: Would Hera have a motive to kill Zeus?
Answer: No. Especially since it would be impossible. Deities cannot kill
other deities. This would be a violation of their immortality. They may be
able to kill themselves however.
Question: Did Hera livew with Zeus or on her own?
Answer: Hera lives in the palace of Zeus on Mt. Olympus.
Question: is there any songs on hera or about hera or decribers her
Answer:
SONG OF THE WEDDING BED Bride, warm with rosecolored love, Brightest ornament of the Paphian, Come to the bedroom now, Enter the bed and play tenderly With your man. May the evening star Lead you e Here are a couple from ancient times: When you will gaze in wonder Before the silver throne of Hera, Queen of Marriage. --Sappho I. To Hera I sing of gold-throned Hera, Rhea born, Immortals' Queen - Her form outshineth all - the sister of loud-thund'ring Zeus, and wife, sublime; the Bless'd on Bless'd Olympus' peak revere and honor Her as much as Zeus. --Homeric hymn.
Question: when hera drugged zueses drink did he try to kill her or try to lert her live?
Answer: Neither. Hera is immortal and cannot be killed. But look more at the concept of drugs. The ancient Greeks thought drugs could be effective. One has to wonder where the idea came from. The ancient Greeks believed drugs can be used against deities and mortals.
Question: What is hera’s regard for authority
Answer: Within their realm the goddess is the last authority, but according
to the Greeks a goddess is limited by fate, justice, and reason. Also Zeus has the last word on everything since he is mor powerful than all the rest of the deities combined.
Question: WHY DIDN’T HERA EVER REMARRY
Answer: Divorce was not acceptable to the Goddess of marriage.
Question: Was Hera a black woman, white, asian, or what
Answer: None of these. Hera was a goddess. Whenever she appeared to people she always wore familiar garb that would allow her to be recognized by those people. To the Greeks she looked like a Greek, but to an African pygmy she looked like an African pygmy. This does not mean that she is always recognized. But she is a goddess for every mortal.
Question: what weapon represents her
Answer: Hera sometimes appears with a spear.
Question: what was heras plant?
Answer: Gaia gave Hera golden apples of the Hesperides. Plant associated with her include pomegranate, willow, and lotus.
Question: was hera good or evil
Answer: The answer to this question depends upon who is answering and when.
As a goddess Hera prepares a divine plan which she then brings into being.
Unfortunately we, as mortals, cannot know every detail of this plan because the
plans of the divine are beyond our comprehension. Sometimes this plan helps
some individuals and hurts others. To those she helps she seems good while
those who are hurt regard her as evil. But in reality both just have too
narrow a view. All parts of the plan are in fact good from the point of view of Hera.
Question: when naked did hera look beter than the women zeus had affairs
with.
Answer: Usually. But remember that forbidden fruit is often sweeter than
fruit that is ready at hand. And what is in front of you is easier to attend to than something that is only a memory.
Question: why did zues cheet on hera ?
Answer: Are you sure it was cheating? Zeus had to bring into reality all
those heros and heroines.
Question: how does tethys fit into her childhoo, because didn’t she get swallowed by her father as an infant?
Answer: Tethys was a Titan and an aunt of Hera. Hera was swallowed by
her father and later regurgitated. Hera may have been full-grown at that
point. But Hera would have needed a chaperone until she married Zeus.
This was the role that Tethys took.
Question: Why was Hera the queen of heaven?
Answer: Hera was queen of heaven as a result of marrying Zeus. It is unlikely that she was always the queen of heaven. Originally Zeus and Hera may have had the same relation as Ouranous and Gaea. Hera would have been a goddess of the earth. Later other earth goddesses developed including Gaea, Rhea, Demeter, and Cybele and Hera passed her realm of earth to these other goddesses. Zeus began as a weather god and seems to have expanded his realm to include the whole universe. Then Hera became queen of the universe by virtue of her marriage to Zeus.
Question: what was her clothing made of and was it provocative
Answer: Hera’s clothing was made of gossamer. It is totally revealing
and provocative. It can be opaque but shimmery but is often transparent. During Classical Greece the goddesses were often portrayed as clothed. But it was a perfect kind of clothing. Later the goddesses were portrayed nude because this image symbolized an ideal form of feminine power. This kind of portrayal continued in its popularity when the Catholic Church declared that nudity of mortals was immoral. The clothing portrayed on art from classical Greece represented the clothing that was commonly worn then. Common fabrics included wool linen, cotton, and both native silk and that from China. Some outfits were elaborately embroidered, some opaque, some shear. In the art some fabrics are portrayed in a ideal way that no real fabric can conform too. These are the gossamer fabrics.
Question: since she is the goddess of maraige then what responsabilities does she have?
Answer: She establishes the natural laws by which a marriage operates. She
then listens to appeals that are made by mortals. These appeals come as
prayers and petitions with gifts. She must then decide whether and how to
respond. She also checks for proper respect for her role and punishes
those who seek to disrespect her or take advantage of her.
Question: did she have a violent temper
Answer: She had a temper, but it was not violent.
Question: Did Hera love Zeus?
Answer: Yes. As the goddess of marriage it was necessary for her to
love her husband. She also loved him because he was the main god.
Question: Aphrodite is often dipicted as very beautiful, such as in movies,if Hera is the most beautiful goddess, why is Aphrodite usually prettier?
Answer: Most of the goddesses are strikingly beautiful. Which one is most
beautiful is a matter of opinion. Courtesy requires that you address the one
in front of you as the most beautiful. But it would not be correct to publicly
awow one as the most beautiful unless, like Paris, you want to incur the
wrath of the others.
Question: was hera a lesbian?
Answer: It would not do for the goddess of marriage to be a Lesbian.
But Hera could have been bisexual as were many of the Greeks. Homosexuality was much more accepted in ancient Greek society than in contemporary society.
Question: what does hera look like?? the color of her hair, facial facts, clothing she wore, and eye color?
Answer: We know hera was strikingly beautiful but she also had the ability
to change her shape at will. She would invariably appear to mortals in
a form familiar to them so she is often represented by different images.
Ancient Greek images show Hera with black or brown hair.
Her hair is always beautiful and makes her look like a queen.
She is the queen of heaven so she likes to dress up even on a normal
day. She like to wear a peplos made of a finely women material, with a circle
crown in her hair. Hera in action, Berlin F 2531.
Hera is a mature and beautiful woman who looks slightly older than
Aphrodite and is still as beautiful as she is. Her eyes look large and she
always wears her crown, fine gown, and expensive jewelry. She acts like the
Queen of the Universe (which she is).
Question: where can we find poems on hera?
Answer:
- The Iliad of Homer
- Stenichorus the poet. He went blind after writing a poem placing all blame for the Trojan war on the Goddess. His sight returned after he wrote a second poem to recant the first.
- 305-329: this selection from Homeric Hymn to Apollo tells about Hera and Hephaestus. HH3 305
- Valery, Paul (1871-1945). “L’histoire d’Hera.” Poem.
Question: Did Zues Really kill Hera?
Answer: Certainly not. Hera is immortal and cannot be killed.
Question: How did she feel?
Answer: How Hera feels depends on the time and events that are happening.
She is especially sensitive to her realm of marriage.
Question: What or who was her love?
Answer: Mainly Hera loved status. She also loved her husband Zeus and
she loved Jason as well. She has also loved other humans from time to time.
Question: according to most, is Hera attractive?
Answer: Some consider Hera the most attractive goddess. But not everyone
sees her true beauty. She would often appear to a worshipper in the guise
of a friend of the worshipper to improve her reception. The worshipper
would not get to see the true beauty of the goddess.
Question: I need to know what the dominion was of Hera.
Answer: In this article I refer to the realm of Hera. This means
the same as the dominion of Hera. Goddesses are like ruling queens, but
many, such as Hera, rule natural processes rather than geographical areas.
A normal queen has a legislativive, judicial, and administrative function.
She passes laws for her subjects, hears cases where her subjects are in
conflict and cannot figure out how to apply the law, punishes violators of
the law, and appoints persons to help her carry out the law and enforce it.
This is human law administered to humans. A goddess works with divine laws.
The laws that she passes are either natural laws or moral principles. Natural
laws operate by necessity and require no enforcement. Moral laws must be
enforced. The ancient Greeks considered breaking a moral law to result in the
disfavor of the goddess. This resulted in bad things happening. The goddess
could be petitioned through prayer. The judicial function of the goddess
involved listening to prayers and excusing moral laws if warrented. boons
can also be granted to worthy individuals. The administrative funtion of a
queen involved appointing subordinates to carry out the law: police, judges,
tax collectors, jailers, etc. The goddess has her temples, priests and
priestesses, seers, and devotees.
Hera is the goddess of marriage. The institution of marriage is her realm
or dominion. The laws she passed relate to the success of a marriage. An
example of a natural law is that only couples of a man and a woman can have
a baby. A moral law states that you should only have sex with your spouse.
A prayer to Hera might ask that you might be forgiven an extra-marital affair.
Hera might punish you anyway by causing your face to wrinkle. She might give
you the boon of allowing your daughters to get married.
It is interesting that goddesses have such involved realms because it
seems they must know something of ruling and politics. None of the ancient
Greek ladies seem to know anything of this. In fact the governance of the
divinities did not mirror the human government of the archaic and classic
periods. Nor do the ladies of the heroic period, even though, during that
period, there were queens such as Clytemnestra. But this does seem to reflect
a governance of some older society. The suggestion is that this is the form
of governance of the Mycenaean and Minoan societies, where women did seem
to rule.
Question: What was Hera and Zeus’s marriage life like?
Answer: Lively.
Question: what’s hera revenge
Answer: In order to create heros Zeus was sexually attracted to a number of
earthly women. Hera was jealous of these laisons and persecuted either the
women or their offspring. This persecution is referred to as Hera’s revenge.
Question: is hera still alive or dead
Answer: The ancient Greeks believed she was alive and that she was immortal.
They believed that she would still be alive today. Marriage is still an
important institution so you could argue that in so far as she personifies
marriage as the goddess of marriage, that she is still alive today. There may
even be people that still worship her today. The fact that their prayers may
be answered would support her existance. But Christians often contend that
if she exists she is part of the Devil. The Devil as the ruler of Hell would
have to be considered dead. In this context the Christians contend that
all gods and goddesses of ancient Greece are alike dead, but a closer truth is
that they never lived. In stark contrast to this claim are the many
testimonials carved into the ancient Temples that certify that miracles
occurred at the behest of goddesses. Of course these testamonials stop
about 125 AD.
Question: Was Hera ever considered kind, if so, by who and how ?!?!
Answer: Because of Hera’s faults, it was easier for women to identify
with Hera. Women often turned to Hera for help. Her many temples and
dedications suggest that she was seen as generous by many of her worshippers.
Question: Who was Hera’s favorite mortal?
Answer: Jason of the Argonauts
.
Question: Did Hera have as much power as Zues?
Answer: No. Zeus had as much power as all the other gods and goddesses
put together. In fact the power of Hera seems to be behind that of Athena,
Aphrodite, Artemis, and maybe Persephone. But because they are in different
realms this does not mean much. Even the weakest goddess can be the most
important if her realm is needed. And the accessability is also important.
Hecate is the most accessable because she controls luck. Athena is the
least accessible because of her virginal purity. Because of her difficulties
Hera was one of the most accessible of the major goddesses.
Question: was hera really mean to zeus and hercules?
Answer: No. Any activity of Hera is part of a divine plan which is beyond
human cognition. The myths suggest she was mean. Why this is true may relate to the role of women in ancient Greece.

Question: did zeuse rape hera
Answer: Zeus turned himself into a cuckoo which was Hera’s favorite pet.
When Hera fondled the bird Zeus took advantage of the situation and forced
himself sexually upon Hera. She then felt it necessary to marry Zeus so
he would be the father of her child. In the sense that he forced himself
upon Hera this must be considered rape. But he did not seize her or brutalize
her in any way. Even so it is not a good way to start a marriage relationship. Still Hera seems to have accepted this act favorably has she did not prosecute Zeus and committed to marry him. She is still his wife.
Question: What is the name of Hera’s temple?
Answer: The temple of Hera at Olympus is called the Heraion. In Samos is the
Great Hera Temple. The remains of many of her temples can be seen today.
Question: Is Hera a Myth or Legend
Answer: Hera is an immortal goddess. Since she is the goddess of marriage,
and marriage still functions as an institution, you can be assured that
she exists as much now as in the days of the ancient Greeks. This is true
even though her worship is dead. Myths contain stories about
Hera. The Iliad and the Odyssey contain come of those myths. They are called
myths because there is no physical evidence for their verification. The
ancient Greeks believed in the truth of these stories, but we no longer do.
Myths form a part of the religious beliefs of a culture while legends do not.
